The Composing system offers you a good way to strengthen your mech, your weapons, and armor by adding a random new attribute and upgrading its rate of quality (which is represented by the color of the items name).  With a 100% success rate, you never have to worry about losing your items.  It is very important that you learn and understand this skill if you wish to improve your overall effectiveness out in the battlefield.  Below you will find examples of what, and how, composing changes and upgrades your battle gear.

Here, you can see a Commander Mech whose gear is composed to Orange quality.

Below, you can see that upgrading it from Purple to Orange gave it one new random attribute (EM Res. +112). Whenever you compose an item, a random attribute will be added to the resulting item.

What is "Compose" ?

Before learning more about the Compose feature, let’s turn to the quality of equipment. Currently, there are 5 rates of quality in all, and are as follows:

White quality is “Normal” (0 Stat)

Green quality is “Good” (1 Stat)

Blue quality is “Polished” (2 Stat)

Purple quality is “Excellent” (3 Stat)

Orange quality is “Honorable” (4 Stat)

The above are the 5 quality levels available currently in game. Each time that you compose an item, it will upgrade it one rate of quality, and, of course, the higher the quality rate, the more attributes or statistics it can have.  In addition to this, there are higher level equipment which is divided into Ordinary and Special. Ordinary equipment is obtained from merchants, monsters and even the Crazy Slot mini-game, Special equipment is obtained from monsters out in the Battlefield(Instance), this kind of equipment tends to have better attributes than the Ordinary ones that composing offers .

Understanding how equipment quality differs, now we can move onto the actual Composing process:

How do I Compose?

As we stated in the beginning, Composing an item not only upgrades the quality of it, but it also adds a new random attribute, such as Damage Absorb Proportion, EM Resistance, etc.

The Compose feature is a very useful tool, but not complex to understand. You only need 2 materials in order to compose: A Major Compose Item and an Aid Compose Item.  Major Compose Item refers to the item itself that you want to upgrade and add extra statistics to such as: Your mech body, weapon, or mech controller (Sensor, Processor Etc). Aid Compose Item is the item that will be consumed in order to compose the Major Compose item, such as another piece of the same equipment, or a Compose Device Item.

Note: Composing charges a proportional amount of EC. More is charged as you compose higher level items.

There are 2 different methods that can be used to Compose:
Equipment + Compose Device and Equipment + Equipment

Their effects are the same.

1. Equipment + Compose Device:

When you cannot find a secondary compose item for reasons such as that it is a higher level item or a rare item, you should use Compose Devices(found from monsters in the Battlefield/Instance and in the in-game mall ), and they are represented in 5 grades:

Primary (Used on White Parts)

Medium (Used on Green Parts)

Advanced (Used on Blue Parts)

Elite (Used on Purple Parts)

Super (Used on Orange Parts)(not implemented).

These also come in 2 kinds of versions: Ordinary and Special Compose Device. Special Compose Device is specially used for Special Equipment.  Remember that once you Compose something, you will end up with only 1 item, so here the Compose Device is used up but you will retain the now upgraded item and with a new random attribute.

2. Equipment + Equipment:

If you do not have a suitable Compose Device, but two of the same equipment (having different attributes does not matter, just so long are both are white, green, blue, etc. in quality).  If both pieces of equipment have the same attribute(s), a new random attribute will be created upon Composing; If they have different attributes, please put the one with the attribute you want to keep in the Major Compose Item slot of the Composing box, the Aid Composing Item attribute will not remain on the newly composed item. Once you have placed both pieces of equipment in the Compose slots, the Aide Compose item will be consumed and you will only receive one piece of higher quality equipment in return.

Having learned how the Compose feature works, it's time to apply what we've learned to the field!

Bring your “Earth Protection Machinegun” and one "Primary Compose Device" to the <Enhancement Technician>, the NPC in charge composition and enhancement. Talk to him and choose “ Item Compose”, then put the machinegun in the left blank slot (Major Compose item slot), and Compose Device on the right one (Aid Compose item slot). With both slots occupied as we have learned, click the “ Begin” button, this is only an option if both slots are correctly occupied.

After the Compose, you will find one new random extra attribute, in this case “EM Resistance +18” was the random attribute added to the machinegun, and the item has been upgraded from “White” to “Green”.  New attributes can certainly change the battle in your favor. More attributes, more improvements!
